* Digital Prints on the Frontier can be made on the following Canvas
Sizes:
-- 3.5x5, 4x6, 5x7, 8x10, 8x12, 10x15allets
can be printed as a sheet of 8-Wallets, no smaller quantities available
from dig@ 300 dpi
* Digital output on the Frontier can be bordered or borderless.
* If your file is not proportional to the print size you order, it will
be cropped by default to the center. You can opt to have your file printed
without cropping, or what we call the 'no crop' option. If your image
is not proportional to the print size you ordered, you will have extra
white space on two sides of the image. If you do the 'no crop' option
and you are ordering a bordered print, the borders on two sides of the
image will be larger than the other two.
* All digital output from the Frontier is slightly cropped even if the
file is properly set up (i.e. 4x6 @ 300 dpi),
so allow some breathing room near the edges of the image to ensure that
no critical parts of the image are lost.
* Jpeg or Tiff files are acceptable formats.
All files should be RGB only !! Save Jpeg
files using the 'baseline standard' compression option, save Tiff files
with no compression using the IBM byte order and in 8 bit color mode.
Convert Grayscale & CMYK and other formats to RGB Tiff, and any layers
should be flattened before ordering.
* File Names : Important ! Keep file names short, and avoid strange characters
and spaces. ex: image01.jpg
* Useful Tip: when ordering prints from digital files, know the file names
you want and what sizes you would like.
* A good way to manage your files when you bring them in for an order
is to place your image files in various folders using the folder name
a guide as to what you would like. Such as having a folder named 1_4x6,
meaning that all the files in that folder you want one 4x6 each. Other
folders could be named 2_4x6 , 1_8x10 etc........
* In general we recommend against using CD-RW material, as it becomes
unstable over time. Use CD-R instead.
* To get non-standard print sizes, drop you image on the next largest
standard canvas size. For example, let's say you wanted an image size
of 3.4 x 5.6 inches, since there is not a matching Frontier Print size,
drop that image on the closest standard Frontier print size, in this case
that would be 4x6, and then order a 4x6 print from that file. To keep
the image as close to the size you made it, request that it be printed
using the 'no crop' option, this will produce an image as close to the
size you made it as possible using the Frontier. For printing images larger
than 10x15, this is less important, since they are sized manually using
the Light Jet printer.
* Wallets: 2.5 x 3.5 Wallet Prints can be made by the sheet from digital
files. 8 per sheet - borderless only. If you want bordered wallets from
your digital files, you will have to create them yourself using Photoshop,
and then drop them on a standard canvas size, and then order prints of
that size from your prepped file using the 'no crop' option. Keep in mind
since a little cropping occurs, even when using the 'no crop' option,
to allow a little breathing room on the edges so you don't loose anything
of importance.
